Polyurethane Foamed-In-Place Insulation

Our most popular polyurethane-insulated doors have R-values* ranging from 9 to 16.22. These doors are manufactured with polyurethane foamed-in-place insulation using a patented process. Polyurethane insulation delivers twice the thermal performance of polystyrene insulation of the same thickness! It also adds strength and rigidity to the door panels and helps dampen sound transmission.

High Cycle Spring Option

Choose a 25,000 cycle spring for almost twice the life of a standard torsion spring.

Garage Door Integral Struts

Some Wayne Dalton doors feature horizontal integral struts at the top and bottom of door sections.  These struts add rigidity and strength to the door for a long life and smooth operation.

Pinch-Resistant Garage Doors

Wayne Dalton’s pinch-resistant garage doors are designed to help eliminate injuries caused when fingers are caught in door panel joints during downward operation of the door. These pinch-resistant door panels help push fingers out of harm’s way if accidentally placed near a closing door. Wayne Dalton developed the first integrated pinch-resistant door design in the industry.

TorqueMaster® Counterbalance

TorqueMaster® Plus is Wayne Dalton’s exclusive counterbalance system that safely and cleanly contains the springs inside a steel tube. Having the springs contained in the metal tube looks much better than exposed springs and prevents the collection of dirt and grime on them. The TorqueMaster® Plus design helps prevent injury that could result from the accidental release of tension and includes an anti-drop safety device. If a spring should happen to break while the door is in the up position, the anti-drop device will stop the door from going into a free fall.

Features:

  • Anti-drop protection
  • Easy tension adjustment
  • Enclosed Springs

‘Reliable Performance’- ‘Wayne Dalton has cycle-tested more than 250 TorqueMaster Plus springs. These tests show the average TorqueMaster Plus spring life cycle exceeds the industry requirements* by 15%

*Minimum 10,000 cycle life as specified by ANSI/DASMA 102

Bottom Weather Seal

In addition to insulation, our doors have a bottom weather seal. The bottom weather seal blocks drafts and reduces air infiltration. It remains flexible even in extreme cold to keep the bad weather outside. All of our residential garage doors feature a bottom weather seal.

Wind Load Garage Doors

Insurance analysts know that 80% of residential hurricane damage begins with wind entry into your home’s garage. During an extreme wind event, storm-driven debris can dent, deform or even penetrate ordinary garage doors.
Many of Wayne Dalton’s most popular garage doors now have wind load-rated reinforcements. Models with the WindSafe® logo have options available to comply with various approval agencies, including the Florida Building Code, TDI (Texas Department of Insurance) and Miami-Dade County (FL).
Wayne Dalton door models with the Impact™ logo have been approved for impact resistance. Tests show these doors are able to stop the direct impact of a 9 lb. 2×4 board at 50 feet per second. Although these Wayne Dalton garage doors have wind load and impact ratings, you should consult with a registered architect and engineer to be sure they are compliant with building code requirements in your particular area.

Inner strength. Outer beauty. Live confidently.

The Wayne Dalton residential garage doors that can be upgraded to wind load include all models of the Classic Steel Garage Doors, and all of the Steel Carriage Garage Door models.

Wayne Dalton offers a 10-year Limited Warranty on this garage door. Please reference the warranty document for details.
