8000 Steel Garage Door

The 8000 series uninsulated garage door has embossed high tensile steel front panels that gives the look of wood with the strength of steel. This garage door has full 2″ thick uninsulated garage door panels with box shaped 20 gauge stiles for strength and rigidity. The two-coat, baked -on polyester finish is almost maintenance free. This finish also makes an excellent base if you repaint to match the existing exterior colors of your home.

TorqueMaster® Counterbalance

TorqueMaster® Plus is Wayne Dalton’s exclusive counterbalance system that safely and cleanly contains the springs inside a steel tube. Having the springs contained in the metal tube looks much better than exposed springs and prevents the collection of dirt and grime on them. The TorqueMaster® Plus design helps prevent injury that could result from the accidental release of tension and includes an anti-drop safety device. If a spring should happen to break while the door is in the up position, the anti-drop device will stop the door from going into a free fall.

Bottom Weather Seal

In addition to insulation, our doors have a bottom weather seal. The bottom weather seal blocks drafts and reduces air infiltration. It remains flexible even in extreme cold to keep the bad weather outside. All of our residential garage doors feature a bottom weather seal.

Many of Wayne Dalton’s most popular garage doors now have wind load-rated reinforcements. Models with the WindSafe® logo have options available to comply with various approval agencies, including the Florida Building Code, TDI (Texas Department of Insurance) and Miami-Dade County (FL).
Wayne Dalton door models with the Impact™ logo have been approved for impact resistance. Tests show these doors are able to stop the direct impact of a 9 lb. 2×4 board at 50 feet per second. Although these Wayne Dalton garage doors have wind load and impact ratings, you should consult with a registered architect and engineer to be sure they are compliant with building code requirements in your particular area.
