8300 Series Insulated Steel Garage Door

Classic Steel Model 8300 is one of Wayne Dalton’s best-insulated residential garage doors and is durably made with two layers of steel surrounding a thick layer of foamed-in-place polyurethane insulation. These doors are offered in five classic and contemporary designs and a wide selection of painted and bi-directional wood grain finishes.

 

Model 8300 comes with an impressive R-value* of 12.12, using polyurethane foamed-in-place insulation, which can improve your home’s thermal efficiency, block street noise and make the door operate more quietly. Heavy-gauge steel wrap around end caps trim-out door edges for better appearance, improved strength and damage-protection of the insulation.

Decorative hardware kits come with four hinges and two pull handles. Double car doors come with two sets of decorative hardware kits. Additional accent pieces are available to match or complement each collection. Pull handle fit in center stile is dependent upon design and size of door.

Polyurethane Foamed-In-Place Insulation

Our most popular polyurethane-insulated doors have R-values* ranging from 9 to 16.22. These doors are manufactured with polyurethane foamed-in-place insulation using a patented process. Polyurethane insulation delivers twice the thermal performance of polystyrene insulation of the same thickness! It also adds strength and rigidity to the door panels and helps dampen sound transmission.

Bottom Weather Seal

In addition to insulation, our doors have a bottom weather seal. The bottom weather seal blocks drafts and reduces air infiltration. It remains flexible even in extreme cold to keep the bad weather outside. All of our residential garage doors feature a bottom weather seal.

Effective Joint Seals – Snug-fitting tongue-and-groove section joints help prevent wind and weather from entering the garage.

Silent Glide Rollers – Nylon rollers with solid steel shafts provide years of smooth, quiet and dependable operation.

Heavy Gauge Steel End Caps trim out door edges for better appearance, improved strength and protection of the insulation.

Wind Load Garage Doors

Insurance analysts know that 80% of residential hurricane damage begins with wind entry into your home’s garage. During an extreme wind event, storm-driven debris can dent, deform or even penetrate ordinary garage doors.
Many of Wayne Dalton’s most popular garage doors now have wind load-rated reinforcements. Models with the WindSafe® logo have options available to comply with various approval agencies, including the Florida Building Code, TDI (Texas Department of Insurance) and Miami-Dade County (FL).
Wayne Dalton door models with the Impact™ logo have been approved for impact resistance. Tests show these doors are able to stop the direct impact of a 9 lb. 2×4 board at 50 feet per second. Although these Wayne Dalton garage doors have wind load and impact ratings, you should consult with a registered architect and engineer to be sure they are compliant with building code requirements in your particular area.
