Rolling Security Door

When you need a high-security roll-up door that offers superior protection, you need a roll-up door from Cookson. Our roll-up security doors work 24/7 to defend your building against threats such as unwanted entry, burglary and destructive vandalism. We engineer our rolling doors to protect against inclement weather at both interior and exterior openings in industrial, commercial and institutional buildings.

We weren’t happy with the bulky, outdated roll-up metal security doors of the past — so we created a better, custom-made option. This high-security roll-up door withstands daily use with ease and warrantied for up to 50,000 open and close cycles — more than twice the amount of many competitive brands. This door is fully supported by side guides for maximum clearance in areas with limited overhead space, with hand-crank, push-up and motor operation available.

Customizable Security

Each overhead coiling door is custom-built to meet your specific design requirements, resulting in a door that’s uniquely yours. With Cookson, you can customize different parts of your door, including:

  • Material: Choose a rolling door manufactured from stainless steel, galvanized steel or aluminum.
  • Finish: Create a unique look by customizing your finish, including clear anodized, medium or dark bronze anodized, black anodized or mill finish. We also offer SpectraShield™ powder coating, available in more than 180 different colors.
  • Slats: Customize your ventilation and visibility with custom slats.

Unique Design Solutions

Pass Doors

Hollow metal man door and hinged frame available within a curtain.

Sloping or Irregular Openings

Our special bottom bar designs can address these conditions.

Superimposed Doors

Combine two different curtains on the same opening. Typically, an insulated door is used in conjunction with an open design rolling grille to provide ventilation. When extreme weather or sound resistance is desired, we can provide superimposed/double insulated curtain assemblies.

Combination Doors

Combine two different slat profiles in the same curtain.  Typically, a standard slat is combined with a perforated slat or even rolling grille for ventilation and security.

Mullions

There are multiple mullion options –  corner, fixed and removable.

Vibration Isolator

Vibration Isolators effectively reduce the amount of vibration* caused by operation of doors and grilles.
*Vibration was reduced by14%+ on doors and grilles with vibration isolators installed compared to doors and grilles without the system

Performance Upgrades

Magic Switch

A touchless activation device designed to open and close doors with the wave of a hand. It’s compatible with all operators that have a primary entrapment device and are configured for momentary contact to close. The Magic Switch is easy to retrofit in an existing application and features a clean, stainless steel face plate.

High Cycle Springs

Heavy duty springs manufactured to withstand cycles of 100,000.

Seismic Performance Validation

We can provide project specific seismic calculations for all coiling doors that are mounted Face of Wall to steel or masonry. Seismic performance validation is per ASCE 7-05.

Performance Upgrades

SafetyGard UL325 Light Curtain

A UL325 approved non-contact primary entrapment device that prevents damage to an object in the door’s pathway in addition to minimizing damage to the closure itself.

Entrapment Protection Devices

Entrapment protection devices ensure that a motorized door or grille will not close on an object.  If an object enters path of closure, the entrapment protection device will stop the door or grille from closing and return it to the fully open position.

Guide-Mounted Interlocks

An electrical cutout switch to prevent motor operation if locking device is not first disengaged.

Heavy Duty Bottom Bar

The HDBB is 350% stronger than traditional bottom bars, preventing forklift damage to your Service or Insulated Door.  The HDBB can pay for itself after the first impact and significantly reduce future maintenance costs.

Locking

A wide variety of locking options are available to meet your security needs.

Electronic AutoLock

The Patent Pending Electronic AutoLock increases the overall security and strength of the Extreme High Performance Grille.

Quick Repair Door

Quick Repair Doors doors are provided with 3′ or 6′ of extra curtain, an impactable bottom bar and removable lower guide sections.  These features allow for faster repair of slat damage, reducing downtime and maximizing the lifetime value of your door.

Rolling Door Protector (RDP)

The RDP eliminates costly fork truck damage to coiling doors by creating a physical barrier at the top of the door that absorbs impacts.

Weather Seal

Include weather seals at the guides and bottom bar with an internal hood baffle at coil housing. Lintel mounted nylon brush seal also available.

Static Wind Load

Can be configured to withstand the full range of specific wind load requirements including missile impact ratings.

Operational Wind Load

Can be configured to withstand an operational wind load of 20 PSF.
